possessory title Title based on the possession of land where the applicant is, for the time being, unable to establish title in the usual way, e.g., by title deeds. First registration of such title has the effect of registering land with absolute title, but that title will not affect any rights or interests subsisting or capable of arising at the time of registration. Possessory title to leasehold land may be granted to an application in possession or in receipt of rents and profits. |
