warrant 1. Document authorising some action, e.g., payment of money. 2. Document issued by a magistrate ordering that a person be arrested and brought before the court. The person must be mentioned by name, or described otherwise. It must contain a statement of the offence charged and it should be signed by the issuing magistrate. |
