satisfaction

Payment or fulfilment of a legal debt or obligation; discharge of a legal obligation. Payment in satisfaction may amount to a release. In relation to the claims of debts, contracts, mortgages and executions, satisfied means discharged, extinguished, paid released, etc., but the word has not been used in this sense in section 145. Criminal Procedure Code of. It is used there as meaning convinced beyond a reasonable doubt.
