commission Court may issue a commission- (a) to examine any person, (b) to make a local investigation, (c) to examine or adjust accounts, or (d) to make a partition. The commission is only a fact-finding body and means only to instruct the Government without producing any document of a judicial nature. It is not a court. A person is examined on commission when he or she is exempted from attending court, e.g. a pardanashin lady or a sick person. When a commission is duly executed, it is returned together with the evidence taken under it. A high Court may issue commission to examine witnesses at the instance of foreign tribunals. |
